The current state of play implements the labels program and filters bib and slant as scripts. This is obvioulsy slow, and they eventually need to be implemented as executables for performance reasons. That said, the book does build as is and teh reimplmenation can wait. The pic macros in 9intro.pic are naieve, and whilst they 'get the point accross' they should be improved. Again this can wait. The chapters need visiting in turn - both to check the examples given can be reproduced and also to make changes for things like the different rc prompts used (which will also require small tweaks in slant, another reason to defer the reimplementation) and similar small changes. The document can then be rounded off with a preface to the 9front edition. Of course, the document can then be expanded as needed!
